Navigating New Standards, New Stories, and Safer Seas

Crossworld Marine remains committed to progress and responsibility—both onboard and ashore. July has been a month marked by pivotal developments in global seafarer training standards, bold thought leadership in maritime dialogue, and proactive engagement with our partners amid challenging operational environments.

Taking Action on War-Like Zones

In light of increased risks in high-tension maritime corridors, we convened a client-exclusive webinar and shared strategic guidance to address war-like zone transits. Through a unified approach, we developed protocols to protect crew welfare while maintaining operational integrity.

Crossworld remains your proactive maritime HR partner—delivering not only Filipino crew solutions and compliant training but also thought leadership in an evolving global industry.

🎙️ Introducing Navigating Horizons: The Greek Shipping Podcast

This July, Crossworld, in collaboration with Fortune Greece, launched the first two episodes of Navigating Horizons, a podcast that spotlights the human stories and operational challenges within Greek shipping.

  • Episode 1: Semiramis Paliou, CEO of Diana Shipping, speaks about ESG, leadership and the future of women in shipping.

  • Episode 2: Nicolas Lemonakis offers candid insights into maritime insurance in these turbulent times

This initiative underscores our commitment to crew recruitment, storytelling, and cross-industry dialogue. Listen on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and Fortune Greece.

IMO Amendments: Setting the New Standard in Seafarer Safety Training

In anticipation of the STCW Convention amendments approved by the IMO in May 2024 and set to take effect from January 2026, Crossworld has already embedded harassment and violence prevention modules into its seafarer training programs. These updates cover:

  • The recognition and response to sexual assault, bullying, and harassment onboard ships.

  • The continuum of harm and its effects on mental health and operational safety.

  • Trauma-informed approaches to victim support and bystander intervention.

We believe that setting the tone today empowers safer, healthier, and more respectful crews tomorrow. As a trusted crew management and training provider, Crossworld is already aligned with what will soon become global compliance requirements.
