Crossworld Charity Foundation: A Month of Music, Giving, and Community Support

August 2025 was a month filled with purpose and solidarity for the Crossworld Charity Foundation, as we organized and participated in a series of activities that brought our community together and extended help to those in need. On 15 August, we launched Music for a Cause — a special evening that combined music, cultural celebration, and employee participation to raise funds for our foundation’s programs. More than entertainment, the event reflected Crossworld Marine Services’ commitment to corporate social responsibility and the wellbeing of seafarers, their families, and the wider maritime community. But our impact didn’t stop there. In the weeks that followed, the Foundation and our employees carried forward the spirit of giving: August 20 – sCAREy Movie Night: our second employee-led fundraising activity, with proceeds supporting the upcoming relief drive. August 23 – Donor’s Appreciation Gathering at Bahay Parola, Sta. Rosa, Laguna, where we honored the generosity of our partners and benefactors. August 30 – Typhoon Relief Outreach Program in Aringay, La Union, where Crossworld extended vital assistance to affected families.               These initiatives show that at Crossworld Marine Services, our mission goes beyond crew management and ship management. We believe in standing alongside the people who support us — from our employees to seafarers, their families, and communities impacted by challenges. With every initiative, we reaffirm our guiding principle: Together Always Ahead — in business, in service, and in giving back.

Navigating New Standards, New Stories, and Safer Seas

Semiramis Paliou Diana shipping CEO

Crossworld Marine remains committed to progress and responsibility—both onboard and ashore. July has been a month marked by pivotal developments in global seafarer training standards, bold thought leadership in maritime dialogue, and proactive engagement with our partners amid challenging operational environments. Taking Action on War-Like Zones In light of increased risks in high-tension maritime corridors, we convened a client-exclusive webinar and shared strategic guidance to address war-like zone transits. Through a unified approach, we developed protocols to protect crew welfare while maintaining operational integrity. Crossworld remains your proactive maritime HR partner—delivering not only Filipino crew solutions and compliant training but also thought leadership in an evolving global industry. 🎙️ Introducing Navigating Horizons: The Greek Shipping Podcast This July, Crossworld, in collaboration with Fortune Greece, launched the first two episodes of Navigating Horizons, a podcast that spotlights the human stories and operational challenges within Greek shipping. Episode 1: Semiramis Paliou, CEO of Diana Shipping, speaks about ESG, leadership and the future of women in shipping. Episode 2: Nicolas Lemonakis offers candid insights into maritime insurance in these turbulent times This initiative underscores our commitment to crew recruitment, storytelling, and cross-industry dialogue. Listen on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and Fortune Greece. IMO Amendments: Setting the New Standard in Seafarer Safety Training In anticipation of the STCW Convention amendments approved by the IMO in May 2024 and set to take effect from January 2026, Crossworld has already embedded harassment and violence prevention modules into its seafarer training programs. These updates cover: The recognition and response to sexual assault, bullying, and harassment onboard ships. The continuum of harm and its effects on mental health and operational safety. Trauma-informed approaches to victim support and bystander intervention. We believe that setting the tone today empowers safer, healthier, and more respectful crews tomorrow. As a trusted crew management and training provider, Crossworld is already aligned with what will soon become global compliance requirements. #TogetherAlwaysAhead #CrewManagement #FilipinoSeafarers #MaritimeHR #CrewingAgency #CrewRecruitment

Crossworld Leads Industry Dialogue on Drug Awareness and Smuggling Prevention

Crossworld Hosts Drug Awareness and Prevention Seminar in the Philippines Together Always Ahead — in Safety, Awareness, and Responsibility On May 14th, 2025, Crossworld Marine Services took proactive action to safeguard the shipping industry and its people by hosting a Drug Awareness and Prevention Seminar in the Philippines. With the growing risk of drug smuggling incidents involving commercial vessels, the stakes are high—not just for seafarers but also for the operational integrity, legal compliance, and global reputation of shipping companies.   A Collective Response to a Global Challenge The seminar brought together key stakeholders across enforcement, law, maritime regulation, and seafarer welfare: Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Philippine Coast Guard Philippine National Police (PNP) Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) Del Rosario Law (P&I legal experts) Marino PH (Social Media and Advocacy Platform) Their unified message echoed loud and clear: NO to Drugs. NO to Smuggling. NO to Illegal Activities. TOGETHER WE SAY NO. Building Awareness, Empowering Crews This initiative reflects Crossworld’s core values—crew welfare, compliance, and long-term sustainability. Our investment in crew training and awareness aims to fortify every vessel’s first line of defense: its people. By educating seafarers and staff on the legal, personal, and operational consequences of illicit activity, we’re not just following industry standards—we’re setting them.

The seminar made a powerful case for why people remain the industry’s irreplaceable “software”—adaptive, ethical, and essential to safe, resilient operations. Panelists emphasized the need for upskilling, crew-centric digital tools, and fostering a company culture that values its workforce as its greatest asset.   Simos Varias at the Oslo Maritime Venture Financing Forum Crossworld’s CEO, Simos Varias, was invited to speak at the Oslo Maritime Venture Financing Forum, a gathering of global investors focused on maritime technology. He offered Crossworld’s perspective on sustainable crew management as a value driver, highlighting how forward-looking investment in people, platforms, and processes is creating long-term competitive advantage in the shipping sector. The session confirmed a growing alignment between capital markets and Crossworld’s core mission: to deliver smarter, human-powered maritime solutions.
