Crossworld Marine Extends Support to Mindanao Earthquake Victims Through PBSP

Manila, Philippines — July 2026

When the sea gives a seafarer their living, the shore is where their family waits. That connection between our people and their communities is at the heart of how Crossworld Marine Services works — and it is why, on 20 July 2026, we came together to extend a hand to families affected by the recent earthquake in Mindanao.

At a ceremonial check turnover held at the Crossworld Office, the company formally handed over a donation to support relief and recovery efforts for those affected by the powerful magnitude-7.8 earthquake that struck the Mindanao region in June 2026, displacing families and disrupting livelihoods across the south of the country.

A partnership built for impact

The donation was turned over in partnership with the Philippine Business for Social Progress (PBSP), the country’s largest business-led social development foundation, ensuring that the contribution reaches affected communities through an established and trusted channel.

PBSP was represented at the turnover by:

  • Ms. Kristine Jimeno-Rivadelo — Director for Operations
  • Ms. Khalelha Añonuevo — Senior Relationship Management Officer
  • Ms. Jeselle Kirit — Relationship Management Officer

Representing Crossworld Marine Services Inc. were:

  • Capt. Levy A. Capayas — President
  • Ms. Jill Reyes — Vice President
  • Mr. Ian R. Garcia — Chief Executive Adviser
  • Mr. Mark Cortez — Finance Director

Why this matters to a manning company

For a crew management and manning company, community is not an abstraction. Many of our seafarers and their families come from the very regions most exposed to natural disasters. Supporting recovery in Mindanao is, in a real sense, supporting the people behind our fleet — and honouring the responsibility that comes with being an employer of thousands of Filipino seafarers.

Through this initiative, Crossworld reaffirms its commitment to supporting communities and contributing to recovery efforts during times of need. It reflects a simple belief that guides the way we operate: that looking after people ashore and at sea is not separate from good business — it is good business.

Together Always Ahead.

Team Updates — Growth and Recognition Within Crossworld

Alongside our community work, we are proud to share news from within the Crossworld team.

New appointments in Operations

We’re pleased to share two appointments strengthening our operations teams:

  • Chief Engineer Vernon Soriano — appointed Operations Manager of Crossworld
  • Mr. Marlon Panisan — appointed Operations Manager of Creworld (D’Amico TBR Creworld)

Please join us in congratulating them and wishing them every success in their new roles. Individual announcements, along with the organisation and communications charts, will follow per company for better reference.

A career at sea and ashore, honoured

We also mark, with gratitude, the retirement of Chief Engineer Erwin Soriano. After a distinguished career at sea — and years of service to Crossworld, leading our Operations teams from the pandemic to today — Sir Erwin leaves a lasting mark on our company. We thank him for his dedication and for the high standard he set in professionalism, loyalty and care for both the people and the business. We wish him a well-earned and fulfilling retirement — at least from daily operations.
