Crossworld’s first seafarer’s symposium a success

Manila, Philippines – Around 300 seafarers attended Crossworld Marine Services Inc.’s symposium last October, where the latest issues concerning the maritime industry was discussed.

The event was held at the AIM Conference Center in Makati City and featured speakers from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency and the Philippine Coast Guard as speakers.

“The event centered on the most pending issues our seafarers are facing. Among them are drug trafficking and challenges in the keeping our environment clean. It is part of the company’s commitment to help our seafarers in every way they can and one of them is hearing experts’ view on these topics which can aid them in dealing with it during their time at sea,” says Arnold Mendoza, Senior Operations Manager of Crossworld Marine Services Inc.

The event also featured Crossworld’s very own Capt. Leonidas Varias and the company’s President and CEO Capt. Eleazar Diaz who gave a seafarer’s view on the matter.

“It was a successful event, the number of attendees was beyond our expectations. We were able give vital information to our seafarers which they can use in real life situations,” added Mendoza.

The event was the first symposium fully organized and sponsored by Crossworld Marine Services Inc., one of the country’s leading maritime manning agencies.

‘We are already planning to hold another symposium early next year, with topics that will revolve once again on the latest issues facing seafarers and offer insight to the problems the seafarers are faced with during their time at sea,’ concludes Mendoza.
